About Us
NourishKC is able to pick up “rescued” food from local vendors and donors six days a week. This community engagement helps keep our food costs to $.12 per meal. We have partnered with the local food bank, Harvesters, to gain access to a wide variety of food from two local Whole Food locations, which provides nearly 80% of our weekly nutritious food.
During 2019, NourishKC refocused our work to the Core of our outreach in the Kansas City region: feeding people. For nearly 40 years, the Kansas City Community Kitchen (KCCK) has provided high quality and nutritious food for any who would come.
As the world has been struck by so many life changes, NourishKC also took strides to utilize our expertise to assist in meeting a basic need of our community: FOOD. The need is evident, so we are working to locate new partners to ensure that fresh produce can be distributed throughout Kansas City.
Currently, we are serving fresh lunches To-Go for 350 people, five days a week. We recognize the critical importance of safety and wellness, so we are working to make each meal fresh, healthy, and tasty in order to best Nourish KC.
